Which Patio Grout should I choose?

When it comes to laying a patio, there are many jointing compounds or grouts you can use to fill the gaps between the paving slabs.

Each product has important differences that makes each application unique. The two main paving grouts are:

Single Part Polymeric Compounds

For a paving grout that you can use with most types of paving, consider using a single part polymeric compound like Joint-it. Joint-it is a quick and easy to apply paving grout that is designed to sweep into the gaps.

How to apply:

This is the simplest way of grouting a patio, firstly start by thoroughly wetting the paving,

Next open the bucket of Joint-it simple and take out the vacuumed sealed bag.

Slice open the bag and add the dry compound to the paving.

Using a squeegee and a brush sweep the compound into the joints.

Remember to take any excess of the paving and lightly rinse the paving.

Exterior Tile Grouts

Exterior tile Grouts are perfect for Paving such as porcelain as they are normally associated with narrow joints. Typically, these tile grouts such as Fuga – Pave Flex CH Grout come in a tub and are simply mixed with water and applied to the tile joints.

How to apply:

Simply Mix the powder into the desired amount of water and Mix until your have a smooth consistency without any lumps.

Make sure that you do not wet the pavers and start by applying the grout evenly on the tile with a spreader or hard rubber float. Grout material must be completely filled between the joint areas.

Apply the grout diagonally with respect to the joints and be sure to remove the excess grout immediately leaving only a thin film on the tile.

Begin cleaning the tiles when the grout is touch dry into the joint. On Completion, clean up the surface using a thick, large sized sponge damped in clean water to avoid removing grout from the joints.
