Delivery and Refunds
We use standard pallets 1200mm x 1000mm with a max total weight 1000kgs. All our deliveries are done on kerbside only with a manual pump truck using a tail-lift vehicle.
All deliveries are kerbside deliveries using a 18 Tonne tail lift delivery vehicle. they are then moved onto the kerbside using a manual pump truck. Delivery drivers are not legally insured to enter your property boundary without consent of the homeowner, the goods may be off loaded onto your driveway with the homeowners permission, however this agreement is strictly between yourself and the delivery company.
Our Vehicles must have sufficient access to your property, this means that it must be wide enough (3m wide). All road surfaces must be Tarmac, block paving or concrete we do not operate or soft/loose ground gravel, type 1 aggregate and soil surfaces. If an item cannot be delivered for any of the above reasons or you have refused a delivery for any of the above reasons then a re-delivery charge will apply. It is the buyers responsibility to inform us about any access problems prior to placing your order, by ordering from Melton Stone you are accepting these terms and conditions
Estimated delivery times are scheduled for Monday – Friday between hours of 8am – 6pm. Please allow 3-5 working days from placing your order, however during occasional busy sale periods these deliveries can take upto 7-10 days. Want your goods sooner? Please call the office to enquire about express delivery. Please note we do not deliver on Bank Holidays, we will schedule your delivery for the next working day. please allow extra time during these busy periods.
We state FREE Delivery on all orders over £350* to mainland UK Postcode Zones.
Some postcodes will have an additional surcharge.
FREE Delivery is a term used to state that Melton Stone Supplies Ltd will in fact cover the outbound haulage costs to a third party delivery company on the pallet network– only when the goods are kept by the consumer.
As a business the haulage of any goods cannot physically be FREE.
If the goods are not accepted/failed delivery occurs due to the ground conditions, access issues, or any other genuine reason and the goods are delivered back to Melton Stone then the outbound haulage costs will be deducted from any refund paid to the customer. Pallet charges start from £60 + VAT and can rise to over £300 + vat per pallet for costal locations like the Isle of Wight.These pallet charges are priced per pallet and will multiply by how many pallets of the job ID reference. Upon receiving the goods back to our warehouse our accounts team will then deduct these costs and send back the remaining monies as a refund
Melton Stone recommends having your goods on site before commencing any work or hiring any workmen. We recommend 7 days before the commence start date, 99% of the time all our goods are delivered within the agreed timescale, but due to unforseen circumstances such as: vehicle breakdowns, access issues that could include, road closures, parked cars, roadworks etc we shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the products within the estimated timescale. You are not entitled to any compensation for any delayed reasons.
Click and collect orders are available to pick up from our warehouse located in Melton, North Ferriby, East Yorkshire HU14 3HH weekdays from 830am - 5pm excluding Bank Holidays. If you would like a saturday morning collection we require at least 24hours notice to have it ready at a showroom to collect.
Please ensure that a responsible person is present upon delivery to inspect, check and sign for your order. However, if nobody is going to be present to accept your delivery, we can still deliver your goods with the homeowners permission via telephone call or email. On orders weighing over 3 tonne someone must be present to accept the delivery.
- Check your delivery to ensure all goods are on the order
- Inspect for any damages.
- If you suspect any damages the P.O.D must be signed as damaged.
Refusal / Rejection / Failed Deliveries

The customer has the right to cancel any order within 7 days of placing the order, however the customer will be liable for any costs Melton Stone Supplies ltd has incured if that pallet(s) haa been collected from the warehouse and is on route to the customer. The following charges will be deducted from the refund, the pallet cost that was paid by Melton Stone Supplies ltd to deliver to your property, the pallet cost to deliver back to Melton Stone supplied ltd and a 25% restocking fee by placing an order with Melton Stone Supplies Ltd you are accepting these terms and conditions.
